When the Chiefs face off against the Lions this Thursday, they’ll be welcoming back one of their key receivers, Kadarius Toney.
Toney had been sidelined due to a knee injury, causing him to miss most of the training camp and preseason. However, head coach Andy Reid has confirmed that Toney is fully recovered and ready to hit the field for Week 1.
In anticipation of Toney’s return, quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed his enthusiasm, emphasizing the positive impact it would have on the team.
Mahomes praised Toney’s exceptional talent and competitive spirit, describing him as a valuable weapon. Mahomes noted Toney’s impressive performance during practice and looked forward to him regaining his usual form.
Mahomes also commended Toney’s dedication to his rehabilitation, which allowed him to prepare for the upcoming game.
Kadarius Toney joined the Chiefs midway through the previous season, making a significant impact by catching 14 passes for 171 yards and scoring two touchdowns in seven games.
He continued to shine in the postseason, contributing seven receptions for 50 yards, including a crucial touchdown in Super Bowl LVII.
This season, Toney is expected to be a key part of the Chiefs’ receiving corps, alongside Skyy Moore and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, complementing the talented tight end, Travis Kelce.
