Deion Sanders‘ Colorado Buffaloes pulled off an astonishing feat. Despite entering Saturday’s game as 21-point underdogs, they managed to defeat the 17th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs with a final score of 45-42 in Sanders’ debut as an FBS coach.
Deion’s son, Shedeur Sanders, delivered a stellar performance, throwing for an impressive 510 yards and four touchdowns.
The versatile player Travis Hunter showcased his skills on both offense and defense, grabbing 11 passes for 119 receiving yards and making a crucial interception along with a pass breakup.
Immediately following this thrilling game, JJ Watt took to social media to provide a succinct recap. In his tweet, he exclaimed, “Colorado-TCU is an amazing kickoff to this college football season!
Indeed, it was nothing short of extraordinary. Today’s matchup was filled with remarkable highlights, with both Colorado and TCU amassing over 500 yards of total offense.
However, the decisive factors in Saturday’s contest appeared to be turnovers and penalties. TCU’s quarterback, Chandler Morris, threw two interceptions, and the Horned Frogs were penalized a total of 10 times for 78 yards during the game.
In contrast, Colorado committed just six infractions, accumulating 35 yards in penalties and turning the ball over only once.
Looking ahead, Sanders’ Buffaloes are set to host the Nebraska Cornhuskers, led by Matt Rhule, in Week 2 next Saturday.
